 Teens VS  Society

 Depression

Adam completed VCE in 2003 but unfortunately missed out on a university place in a  journalism degree. He didn’t have any other careers in mind and wasn’t working or studying  when On Track contacted him in May 2004. The On Track Officer from the SELLEN  contacted Adam by phone and spoke to him about his plans. Adam thought that an  apprenticeship in plumbing would provide a stable career, but he wasn’t passionate about it  like he was about writing. It was apparent that Adam wasn’t engaged with the idea of being  a plumber, so they talked about what Adam was aiming to do during VCE. Adam explained  his situation, and that given the chance he would love to pursue writing. The On Track  Officer told Adam about the Diploma of Arts (Professional Writing and Editing) offered at  Chisholm TAFE and the pathways open to him through this course. Adam met with the On  Track Connect Officer at an Open Session the week where he completed the referral to  Chisholm TAFE to begin the journey of becoming a professional writer.
