Voluntary, step-by-step process for parents and teenagers
to talk to each other about issues that are affecting them and causing
conflict (such as friends/going out/school/rules/money/drugs &
alcohol/ family separation/ step family issues, etc…). The first
step involves each person talking privately with a mediator, the mediator
help families to communicate openly and understand each others point
of view, and encourage people to work towards the best solutions for
them. |

Why would a young
person use this service? |
Mediation helps because it assists young people and
their parents or carers to talk and to listen to each other. The sessions
are private and confidential, and people have time to have their say.
Mediators do not take sides or tell people what to do, and each person
decides whether or not they want to take part |
